The Library was founded in 1970 with financial supported by the John F. Kennedy Foundation for building construction and officially named as "JOHN F. KENNEDY LIBRARY". The JFK library’s mission is to provide the Prince of Songkla University community at Pattani Campus with access to rich and relevant information resources to support their research, teaching, learning activities and scholarly communication. The library equips its users with information seeking skills to utilize library and information technology innovatively and appropriately. Seats and space have been designed and built to facilitate discussion and collaborative work between users.

JFK Library has a range of library materials that cater to various learning needs and preferences. Its print collection stands at more than 250,000 volumes and a good collection of audio visual materials, numbering about 25,000 items. The electronic resources comprise about 24 subscribed databases and 35,000 e-journal titles. These e-resources can be accessed from anywhere. Internet access at the library is available via PSU network account and users’ password including in-library Wi-Fi coverage. Users are free to use either Wi-Fi, wired connection or both. To help users to exploit and use these resources, the library provides them with a range of information finding and research tools such as Online Library Catalogue and search engines. 170 desktop computers are also available to users in the library.
